Random Thoughts for September of 2005

My WBL league fantasy football team is officially my favorite NFL team.

I have been an uncle for two months now, and I think it is the best thing to ever happen to me in my life so far. My niece Annika is so pure and innocent that it makes me want to be a more responsible person. I look at how she starts off life with a clean slate, and I would like to do that for myself in many aspects. I promise not to get self-righteous on you, but I do feel I’m naturally more responsible as a result of uncletude.

I don’t watch much TV anymore. The only shows I watch are the OC and Entourage. I look forward to both each week. The best part of it all is that one show is on fall-spring and the other runs the entire summer. So, I never have a void of TV shows involving young, hip, and stylish rich kids living in California in houses much bigger than mine.

I really like the band “the Killers”. I realize that I am about 3 years past the neo-alt rock “the” band phase, but “it’s better late than never”. I really only like them because they are catchy as hell and are something fresh. I now officially share the same music opinion with all of middle america. Can anyone say Yuppie?

I work about 80 hours a week. 40 of that goes to my salaried job with the school district and another 40 goes to empire building. I started my own web services company recently, and things are starting to take off. It’s weird saying I work 80 hours a week, because it doesn’t really seem like work. It’s more of a hobby. The only difference is that this hobby will make me rich one day. Also, I don’t have a girlfriend, so that means I have a lot more free time and a lot less kleenex (due to allergies sicko).

When I was 18, I told my grandpa that I’d be a millionaire by the time I am 30. Although on a day to day basis that seems like a long time away and a tough goal, I feel I am on the right track.

The business I mentioned two paragraphs ago is really a great thing for me. Basically, my business partner Huck and I develop websites from the ground up, market the websites on major search engines, drive traffic to our sites, and then sell products/advertising to visitors. I am slowly perfecting the craft, and I am very good at what I do. The best part is that we are 50/50 partners, so we will both have a great stake in whatever funds we bring in.

I am interested in two different girls right now. One I have been courting since February, and the other is a girl that I just met recently.

I have lost over 40 pounds since I broke up with Kristin. I feel great about myself and I think it’s starting to help me with the ladies. A lot more girls will pay attention to me now. I think I used the whole Kristin breakup as motivation, because it has definitely given me a relentless drive to improve myself. I don’t really blame Kristin for any of this. It’s not her fault that she was able to literally suck the will to live out of me. It was my fault for letting her do it. While I was with her I didn’t really give a crap about anything and stopped taking care of myself (hence the massive weight gain). When I first broke up with her, I thought that my life was over and I felt lost. Now that I’m completely over things, I realize that it was the best thing to ever happen to me. It has lead me to appreciate things, and work harder. I take better care of myself, and I am living out my dream of starting my own business. The only pathetic thing about all of this is that I still mention her name from time to time over a year after we broke up.
